Welcome to the Solent Sport Hub, your one stop shop to finding curricular and extra curricular sports placements and opportunities. My name is Becki Jones (Student Workforce Development Officer) for the School of Sport Health and Social Sciences (SSHSS).

During your time at Southampton Solent University I will be on hand to guide and support you in finding great opportunities to have fun and meet people, improve your CV, gain work experience, improve key/transferable skills (time management, interpersonal skills, etc), or just to continue or further a particular interest. I aim to achieve this through providing a range of opportunities with differing levels of commitment, these opportunities can be undertaken as part of a course requirement or as an extra curricular placement to gain further experience. The opportunities are in a variety of environments and disciplines including; charities, local organisations, national governing bodies, grassroot/performance sports clubs, and local/private schools.

Many of the opportunities advertised are voluntary positions and Southampton Solent University believes that volunteering is a fantastic way to gain additional skills and experience whilst working in the community. However, should you decide to take on this position you need to consider your financial situation and how you would support yourself for the duration of the experience.
